What Preservatives Are In MonaVie?

Many people wonder why MonaVie contains preservatives, although they say they are 100% natural. In ideal conditions, MonaVie would not need preservatives. There is no control over where MonaVie will be stored and the conditions it will be stored in once it leaves MonaVie facilities. This can cause dangerous bacteria to grow. Because of this, they have no choice but to use preservatives. It is more dangerous to drink something with the potential for fungus and bacteria, than it is something that has preservatives to prevent them.

MonaVie uses very low levels of citric acid to preserve their products. Along with preservation, citric acid is used to help lower the PH levels within their blends. This lowers the chance of microbe growth. Citric acid is extremely safe and just as natural as the other ingredients that are found in MonaVie products. There should be no worry about this product in regards to safety.

Potassium sorbate is a form of salt that stops mold growth. This preservative has been found to be very safe even when used in large amounts. It is one of the most extensively tested preservatives today. It is also ne of the safest preservatives. This is even through the eyes of Dr. Michael Jacobson who is a famous food additive critic.

Sodium Benzoate is a very common preservative. This is because it has a very strong antimicrobial benefit, with little taste. It has a very low toxicity and is found in anything from carbonated beverages and fruit juices, to olives and pickles. More things contain this preservative than do not. This substance is showed to leave the body mostly within 6 ours and completely within 10 hours. There is no hesitation of this product because it is toxic, it is because when used at a moderate level it can leave an aftertaste that people dont want in their products. Food is preserved very well using sodium benzoate. Studies have shown no adverse side affects after using this preservative.

Within MonaVie, Sodium Benzoate forms Benzene when interacting with vitamin C. Benzene is only of high concern when levels are very high. MonaVie is constantly checking their Benzene levels and are far within the safety limits set by the FDA and World Health Organization. The concern of Benzene has always come from softdrinks. The reaction of Sodium Bezoate with vitamin C is amplified when mixed with certain metals. Keep in min that even natural fruits and vegetables produce Benzene.

MonaVie uses nothing but the safest preservatives today. On top of this, they are constantly monitoring every level to make sure that they are on the lowest end possible when it comes to preservative levels within their products. Our products are 100% natural and safe even though some preservatives have to be present. This is for the safety of our consumers.
